FINA Diving World Series

By Woody Franklin, About.com

The FINA Diving World Series began in 2007 as a high-profile, annual competition series that gives the world’s best divers the opportunity to compete against each other on a regular basis. As in 2007, the 2008 circuit will take place in a group of three competitions, staged in three countries on different continents:

  • Tijuana, Mexico (April 25-26)
  • Sheffield, England (May 24-25)
  • Najing, China (May 30-31)

These international competitions aim to promote awareness about which countries are renowned for the sport, and to foster growth of the sport of diving in both the host nations and other parts of the world.

The 2008 FINA Diving World Series of 2007 is open to divers from FINA member federations, and is features eight events:

  • Men’s and Women’s Three-meter Springboard
  • Men’s and Women’s Synchronized Three-meter Springboard
  • Men’s and Women’s 10–meter Platform
  • Men’s and Women’s Synchronized 10-meter Platform
