• Sister, Lindsay (12-24-84), is a former level 10 gymnast
• Grandmother Barbara Whiteside, noticed him jumping off houseboats on family trips, gave him some pointers and encouraged the family to sign him up for formal diving lessons
• Trains five-and-a-half hours a day, six days a week
