Despite being labeled as the "Outdoor" National Championships, this competition does not necessarily take place outdoors. As the second major national championship event of the year, the "Outdoor" nationals goes by a variety of names and is currently referred to as the AT&T National Diving Championships.
Taking place during late summer, this event has also been known as "Summer" nationals and will be held indoors in 2012!
