Despite being labeled as the "Outdoor" National Championships, this competition does not necessarily take place outdoors, but it does take place during the summer months.
As the second major national championship event of the year, the "Outdoor" nationals goes by a variety of names such as Summer Nationals or just plain National Championships. The current version is known by its sponsor; The AT&T National Diving Championships.
This event has the name Dumais stamped all over it. Since the inaugural synchro national championship in 1995, a member of the Dumais family has been a synchro champion in each of the last 12 years!
