2008 Speedo USA Diving Spring National Diving Championships

What:

Speedo USA Diving Spring National Championships - Divers will compete for 10 national championships and spots at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. National titles will be awarded for men and women in the following events: one-meter springboard, three-meter springboard, synchronized three-meter springboard, 10-meter platform, synchronized 10-meter platform.

Who:

Divers expected to compete include 2000 Olympic gold medalist and 2005 world champion (Spring, Texas); 2008 World Cup bronze medalists (Noblesville, Ind.), Kelci Bryant (Chatham, Ill.) and Ariel Rittenhouse (Santa Cruz, Calif.), Olympians Troy Dumais (Ventura, Calif.), Cassandra Cardinell (Loudonville, N.Y.), Mark Ruiz (Orlando, Fla.) and Justin Wilcock (Smithfield, Utah), and 2007 national champions Chris Colwill (Brandon, Fla.), Thomas Finchum (Indianapolis), Haley Ishimatsu (Seal Beach, Calif.), Nancilea Foster (Conroe, Texas) and Jessica Livingston (The Woodlands, Texas).

What is At Stake:

Results from the Speedo Spring Nationals will be used to select the USA Diving National Team that competes in international Grand Prix events in Canada and the USA. In addition, the Speedo Spring Nationals will be the final opportunity for divers to qualify for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Diving.

April 16:
  • 11 a.m. – Women’s One-meter Semi-finals
  • 3:45 p.m. – Men’s One-meter Semi-finals
  • 7 p.m. – Women’s One-meter Finals (Results), followed by Men’s One-meter Finals (Results)
April 17:
  • 11 a.m. – Women’s 10-meter Semi-finals
  • 1:15 p.m. – Women’s Synchronized 10-meter Semi-finals
  • 3 p.m. – Men’s Three-meter Semi-finals
  • 5:15 p.m. – Men’s Synchronized Three-meter Semi-finals
  • 7 p.m. – Women’s Synchronized 10-meter Finals (Results), followed by Men’s Synchronized Three-meter Finals (Results)
April 18:
  • 11 a.m. – Men’s 10-meter Semi-Finals
  • 1:15 p.m. – Men’s Synchronized 10-meter Semi-Finals
  • 3 p.m. – Women’s Three-meter Semi-finals
  • 5:15 p.m. – Women’s Synchronized Three-meter Semi-finals
  • 7 p.m. – Men’s Synchronized 10-meter Finals (Results), followed by Women’s Synchronized Three-meter Finals (Results)
April 19:
  • 1 p.m. – Men’s Three-meter Final (Results), followed by Women’s 10-meter Final (Results)
April 20:
  • 1 p.m. – Women’s Three-meter Final, followed by Men’s 10-meter Final
