Heading toward 2012 and the London Olympics, the world championships in Shanghai, China have some serious implications for diving in the U.S.
First, this is a world championships - enough said. Second, how the U.S does in 2011 is one of the determinants of how many divers can be sent to London.
Diving begins on the first day of the FINA World Championships (which also include swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo, and open water swimming) with a final on Saturday, July 16.
