Over the past 20 years, China has become the dominant force in international diving.

Once China began to open doors to the west in the 1970's, their divers, and their well known ability in any type of acrobatics, slowly became known to the world. The talent was there, but because of the lack of competition, Chinese divers initially did not compete well. But success was only a matter of time, for once they learned how to compete they have dominated diving at all levels since.
