Definition:
Visual Spotting is a technique practiced in springboard and platform diving, of using visual clues to tell the diver when it is time to kick out, or stop a dive from rotating or twisting. The visual clues may be the water, the ceiling, the diving board, the platform, or any other visual reference that a diver can see while spinning or twisting.
Divers may use aids such a large numbers, shapes, or unusual colors during practice to help aid in spotting.
