The forward line up is one of the most important drills a diver can practice on an every-day basis. The last image a judge has of a diver is their entry into the water, and it can be an enormous influence on the score the diver receives. Practice a line up every day, and your entries will improve!

The forward line up allows the diver to concentrate on important aspects of a stretch to the water and the entry; a hollow-body position and body posture during the entry, grasping the flat hand on all entries, and the somersault save under the water.

This drill begins with the diver standing at the end of the diving board, bent over at the waist with the arms extended out to the side. It can be performed on the 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard, of 5-meter platform
