Fundraising for Your Diving Program

Ideas to Help Your Club Stay in the Black

By , About.com Guide

If you are running a diving program, fundraising can be an important, but many times overlooked, aspect of a successful program.

Here are a few ideas for fundraising programs to add to your bottom line!

  • When hosting a meet increase revenues by selling t-shirts, novelty items, sammys and concessions.
  • When hosting a meet have host hotels give you a percentage of rooms sold to divers attending the meet.
  • Sell advertising in a meet program.
  • Sponsor a golf outing and sell hole sponsorship.
  • Host a Bingo Night.
  • Run a diving “Boot Camp.” Earn extra money for your program and get your divers in shape at the same time!
  • Raffle items from your local area and the diving community.
  • Have your elite level divers run a “fun night” for new or lesson program divers.
  • Sell gift certificates. If your program is set up as a non-profit organization, your team keeps a percentage of all gift certificates sold. A nice easy way to make some quick money for your team.
