With the retirement of many of the top divers in the U.S. following the London Olympics, their will be some gaps to fill. In men's springboard 2008 and 2012 Olympian Chris Colwill has already accepted a coaching position in his native Florida and the ageless wonder Troy Dumais has hinted that he may well be done after the world championships in 2013.
So who is out there to take the place of these two Olympians. Well for starters there is Kristian Ipsen, who has established himself as the man to beat on 3M and came within an eyelash of making the team, just getting beat out by Dumais at the trials. But even more interesting are a group of three junior divers who are all seniors in high school this year - Michael Hixon, Bradley Christensen and Bryce Klein. Keep an eye on these three in the coming years because their potential is interesting.
Both Hixon and Klein are junior world medalists, and Christensen and Klein - who dive for the same club team in Texas, could very easily find themselves on the top of the podium in 3M synchro in the next few years.
And an even more interesting question is: where will they go to college?
