McCrory Grabs First National Title - Olympic Synchro Teams Win
Nick McCrory earned his first senior national title with a victory in the men's platform at the 2008 Kaiser Permanente National Diving Championships. With the absence of David Boudia and Thomas Finchum, who decided to only compete in synchro platform, McCory won the contest by 95 points. His point total of 521.70, a personal best, would have easily put him in contention for the win, regardless of whether Boudia and Finchum had been diving.
In the synchro contests, Olympic teams came away with wins as Boudia and Finchum won the men's synchro platform, and Kelci Bryant and Ariel Rittenhouse won their second consecutive synchro springboard national title. Boudia and Finchum put forth a personal best score of 464.04, and look ready to take on the competition in Beijing.
